Why Grow An Audience That Essentially Won’t Be Reached.

During one of my lectures on Social Media Advertising, a course I completed with the University of Colorado Boulder, #USA, one of my lectures asked me the question above, and it was quite confusing.

Here is what he had to explain;

For the last 8 years, Facebook has continuously revised its policies to the point that 'Unpromoted posts by businesses on Facebook now only reach around two to six percent of their page followers. With so few page followers seeing unpaid messaging, it’s hard to justify spending money to grow an audience that essentially won’t be reached, he said.

For instance, people spend so much money growing Facebook pages, some pages have been able to put together well over 10,000-page followers, only for just 2 percent of that to see their post daily, making the remaining 98 percent useless.

WHY THAT

Facebook over the years has metamorphosed into an advertising platform, so if they should allow your 1 million page likers to see your posts, most businesses won't even need to promote their content, in the end, Facebook won't be able to make money.

On the other hand, more Facebook page likes make the page and business look credible to old and new customers, why it's somewhat necessary to build.

THE NEW

For some time now, Facebook has been carrying out surveys to determine if there is a need for them to expand and make it possible for you to have more than 5, 000 friends or not. Depending on the outcome and professional advice, we might be seeing a change in that regard, either in addition or reduction.
